Ingredients needed for making mashed potatoes with crushed barley:
200 g crushed barley groats, 1 kg potatoes, 2 cloves of garlic, marjoram, pepper, salt, 0.25 liters of milk. Also 1 onion and 50 g of vegetable oil for the sauce.
Recipe for mashed potatoes with crushed barley:
Peel the potatoes, cut them in half, put them in boiling water, add salt, and boil until tender. Rinse the barley, boil until tender, drain the water and add to the potatoes.
Add marjoram, pepper, chopped garlic, salt, and part of the milk (hot). Beat the resulting mass, adding milk if necessary, until a thick puree is obtained.
Fry finely chopped onion in vegetable oil, add the resulting sauce to the mashed potatoes and stir.
