Mashed potatoes. Side dish recipe
Ingredients needed to make mashed potatoes:
1 kg of potatoes, 0.25 l of milk, 30 g of butter, salt.
Recipe for mashed potatoes:
Peel the potatoes, cut them in half, throw them into boiling salted water and cook until tender. Crush hot potatoes or rub through a sieve, dilute with hot milk, adding it in parts. Add butter to the puree and stir.
Under no circumstances should you add cold milk to the puree, as this will cause the puree to become heavy and sticky.
You should also not add a large amount of milk so that the consistency of the puree is not too liquid.
You should not beat the puree for too long, especially with a mixer - excessive air entry makes the puree foamy and liquid. In addition, the taste of the puree deteriorates.
The taste of the puree also deteriorates if it is placed under hot steam or in the oven. In addition, after half an hour of such heating, vitamin C will completely disappear from the puree.
